Job Description - Digital Marketing Analyst
The job of the Digital Marketing Analyst is to take Effective Marketing Communication Inc to the next level of data-driven and statistically modeled media planning, buying and measurement. The team member will do so by contributing to all aspects of Effective’s media agency offering and by applying the discipline of marketing statistics.

The digital marketing analyst plays a key roles in all aspects of Effective’s media agency offering:
Data analysis and insight discovery
Forecasting and conversion modeling
Test design and implementation
Marketing program performance analysis, optimization and reporting
Job functions and day to day tasks:
Development of statistical models
Independently leads the development of statistical models to inform:
What levels of investment in working media are needed to achieve stable tests of media channels, audience targeting strategies, ad placements and creative versions
What stages of the consumer journey (awareness, interest, shopping, buying, repeat purchase) are weakest and need the most investment to improve
What the potential sales lift and Return On Investment will be for the recommended media plan
What combinations of channel, audience target, ad placement and creative version drove the best outcomes
Integrated Marketing Communication Planning + Test design
Develops a complete understanding of each client’s goals, markets, needs and expectations of Effective.
Manages testing, sales forecasting, response prediction, advertising effectiveness, customer profitability analysis (lifetime value), media mix modeling, conversion tracking, attribution analysis, ROI forecasting and measurement.
Development of performance reports
Pulls campaign performance reports from media platforms (Google, Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, Mediamath, Twitter, etc) and ad server (Zeta/Sizmek).
Develops Excel charts comparing campaign goals vs actual performance.
Generates insights on drivers of campaign performance and recommended optimizations.
Team work and collaboration
Develops and fosters account relationships. Working towards 100% account retention within a defined portfolio of accounts.
Interfaces with other department leads to share ideas, communicate service offerings, and to identify and deliver new solutions for clients.
Shares ideas on process improvement, quality assurance and best practices
Keeps senior management apprised of key client opportunities, potential risks and other key nuances which affect the health of the business.
Works within client relationships to champion initiatives that drive marketing decisions across digital channels
Attends client meetings on ongoing basis, interfaces with executive level and middle management level on client side during meetings and presentations.
Advocates across functional areas within client relationships (e.g. IT professionals, marketing/product managers, C-level executives) to develop rapport and deliver complex solutions.
Solves client problems and uses conflict management skills within a professional environment.
Bachelor’s degree, concentration in business, marketing, or advertising preferred
4+ years of digital marketing, search engine, display and / or social marketing preferred
4+ years using data and information to drive specific targeting and marketing recommendations
Knowledge of statistical methods and testing methodology preferred
Deep knowledge of media platforms (Facebook/Instagram, Google, LinkedIn, Mediamath Snapchat, Twitter)
Experience with ad serving platforms (Sizmek) and online analytics solutions (AdStage) preferred
Demonstrated understanding of online and offline marketing principles
High competency level in MS Office with specific strengths in Excel and PowerPoint. Competency with Keynote is also preferred.
Able to work independently and balance multiple tasks
Min 10 hrs/wk. Workload is 20 hrs/wk.
Flexible, Chicago area preferred. Work at Industrious (320 W Ohio St, Chicago) or from home.
